This is for everyone who has had the priviledge

of a mentor's respect and love...

and fears the day that they will have to let go.

For all of you have already been forced

to let go. I admire your strength.

Many have fallen like petals in a summer's wind,

but you were the stem that kept us together.

In troubled waters we listen for your voice

that brings us the strength and comfort we need.

Just as the sun rises and sets with each passing day,

you are the constant in our lives that we dearly enjoy.

The day is approaching when we must move on in our separate ways

because even the strongest roots must give way,

We will be there as you fall to the earth

with our cushion of love guiding you down to rest.

Though our eyes may forever be blind to your touch,

your voice will remain a constant in our hearts.
